Installation of electronic boards and auto information systems on buses

The automatic passenger information system is a system (external LED boards, audio speakers, monitors, and displays) with the help of which passengers are informed about the bus number, the current and next stop, the position of the bus. All these devices are controlled by an on-board computer, which determines the location of the bus by GPS and automatically reproduces audiovisual information.

The main component of the system is the on-board computer: GPSM autoinformer. It manages:

• All graphic displays (indoor and outdoor).
• Monitors.
• Audio system (external and interior speakers).
• Driver's microphone.

In addition, the on-board computer broadcasts its GPS position and communicates with the software to synchronize and edit routes, stops, and playback content.

The minimum set of electronic scoreboards

In the basic case, the system consists of a set of outdoor LED displays:

1. Front scoreboard. Installed above the windshield. Most often, the size of the front display is 160 * 16 cm or 128 * 16 cm. Displays information about the route number, as well as the destination and arrival point (in two lines), or displays the bus destination in one line.
   
   
2. Side scoreboard. Typical dimensions 96 * 16 cm. Duplicates information from the front display.
3. The rear display shows the route number.
   
   

For voice informing of passengers at the stop, the autoinformation system reproduces the route number from the external speakers for people with poor eyesight.

Scoreboard and sound for the bus interior

The following are installed inside the bus:

• Scrolling scoreboard which displays the name of the current stop, the next stop. Optional: cabin temperature, time.

• Color monitor which graphically displays the bus on the map, bus route, current and next stops. In addition, socially useful information and advertisers' content may be displayed.
  

• The current and next stops are announced on the loudspeakers of the bus interior. Also, in the intervals of stops, announcements, other recorded notifications are announced: announcements about fare payments, coronavirus, etc.

Audio files, stops, content, system control is performed using a web interface and a mobile application. There is no need to download information separately for each informant. In a couple of seconds after adding information to the server, all buses are synchronized and update information.
