Bus card validators

Validators interact with the ASOP system. This is a set of equipment and software, thanks to which passengers can pay for travel by non-cash method. Recently, the system has become popular not only abroad, but also in the majority of Ukrainian cities. The ASOP complex makes fare payment more convenient for passengers and carriers. The software allows you to analyze passenger traffic and exclude the possibility of illegal misappropriation of funds by drivers.

The system makes it possible to pay for travel using an electronic ticket or bank card. The validator is installed in a place convenient for all passengers, mainly on the central handrails. The driver has a master device at his fingertips, thanks to which he can get an idea of ​​the number of passengers in the cabin and, if necessary, adjust the tariff plan or route. It also automatically communicates with the server, where information about the performed validations is transmitted. Those. thanks to the system, the driver is released from the obligation to accept payments from passengers and is not distracted from driving.

Thanks to the ASOP system, passengers can not only pay for travel in a non-cash way, but also assess the state of traffic jams and general passenger traffic in certain places in the city. For this, special electronic resources are used. The data from the validators are sent to the monitoring center, whose employees publish data on the number of people transported in a particular vehicle in real time. The system also allows you to control the actual location of transport, which allows you to warn people in advance about the delay in buses from the planned schedule.

Principle of operation

Validators installed in public transport are connected to a local network with the main on-board computer. The information received on it is analyzed by a processor, encrypted and transmitted via a special radio channel to the monitoring center and then to the city's web portals. Thanks to the analysis of the incoming data, the authorities of the settlement can quickly find out which routes of the city are in the greatest demand, which makes it possible to increase or decrease the number of transport plying these lines. Each validator is equipped with a built-in POS terminal. It allows you to receive information from bank cards. For completely contactless payment, you can use Bluetooth or NFC. That is, it is now possible to pay for travel not only using payment cards, but also through a smartphone.

In order to avoid the possibility of non-payment of fare, the controllers are equipped with mobile scanners that automatically read information from the card of the passenger who entered the cabin. Validators work the same way. Thanks to the built-in LED indicator, the passenger is provided with the following information when paying:

• readiness of the device for scanning the card;
  
• the fact of successful payment;
• non-payment of travel due to insufficient funds in the account;
• reapplication of the card after payment for the service;
• blocking of the validator due to its checking by the controller.

Upon successful acceptance of the payment, the device issues the passenger a travel ticket. To implement such a payment method, you will need to conduct a whole range of organizational measures. To begin with, they prepare a project and conduct an analysis of the available vehicle fleet, average passenger traffic on routes and the number of registered beneficiaries. Next, a trial test of the validator is carried out on several machines. The optimal place for its installation is selected, and the popularity of the device among passengers is analyzed. A poster with detailed instructions on using the validator is hung next to the terminal. The staff is given a detailed briefing aimed at increasing knowledge of the new technology.

Do not forget that only qualified specialists should be engaged in installing and configuring the validator software. The terminals can be operated on the following types of transport:

• trams.

The price of the terminal depends on the total number of purchased devices, required additional functions and the total complexity of the proposed work.
